Huawei chief says increased pressure from US may trigger Chinese retaliation

Huawei warned the US on Tuesday that renewing trade restrictions on the telecom giant could provoke a backlash from Beijing that could potentially damage the global industry. ’The Chinese government will not just stand by and watch Huawei be slaughtered on the chopping board,’ Huawei chairman Eric Xu said, and warned that the US tech companies could face reciprocal treatment in China.
