Australia steps up COVID-19 fight, retired medical staff urged to return

In an effort to step up the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak, Australia is urging over 40,000 former doctors, nurses, midwives and pharmacists to rejoin the medical workforce. As per a new directive, health professionals whose registration lapsed in the last three years will be eligible to apply. The country currently has 4,862 confirmed cases with 21 deaths.
