Amazon warehouse workers protest near Detroit, days after NYC walkout

About a dozen workers staged a demonstration at Amazon’s Romulus, Michigan warehouse over concerns about contracting the coronavirus on the job. The demonstration, which came after a worker there tested positive for the virus, has not impacted fulfillment of customer orders, Amazon said. Earlier this week, 15 employees at an Amazon fulfillment center in Staten Island, New York joined a walkout.

“Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s chief executive, calling for the worker’s reinstatement and for warehouse closures with full pay for staff.” CALLED IT!!! Said this two days ago when the Staten Island center had its little strike. This nothing more than; “ I don’t want to work and I want to get paid.”

Amazon employees (at least where i work) aren't penalized for taking time off in fear of the virus. Breaks are staggered, sanitizer everywhere, and frequently talk about social distancing. Amazon doesn't need to shut down in my opinion.
