I wish people in the US focused more of their energy about the virus worrying and working to make tbe situation better here in our own nation. The problem of China lying is important but largely its out of our hands because as Amsericans we don't effect them in really any way. It's become an echo chamber on here to discuss the virus because it always just goes back to China and how it's China's fault. We need to treat this plague like it's our top national problem because now more than ever national interests are at stake. With borders shut down now there really isn't any need to keep pointing fingers when we should be consolidating around what we can do as citizens at home to solve this problem together.

Willing to bet it's far exceeded 1M considering China tried to keep things hidden early on.

So it kills 4.8% of the people who are already bad off health-wise. The people we're basing these numbers on are already those most likely to die from something like this. Is this worth shutting down the global economy, more depression from people being stuck at home, small businesses closing, increased suicide, loss of basic rights and freedoms, etc? If YOU are worried about catching it or spreading it, YOU take responsibility for YOURself and stay home. The "cure" is quickly becoming worse the disease. And no, I'm not trying to minimize anyone's death.
