EU executive chief concerned Hungary emergency measures go too far

European Commission President Ursula expressed concern that coronavirus restriction measures taken by Hungary went too far and insisted they should be limited in time and subject to scrutiny. Hungary’s parliament granted PM Viktor Orban an open-ended right to rule by decree and introduced jail sentences for anyone hindering measures to curb the spread of the virus or spreading false information.

In this rare case I agree with the EU. I hope very much that the leader of Hungary will give up his powers at the end of this crisis but fear he may not.
