I imagine if people want work at a time like this we will have to diversify our skill sets. I could see an uptick in medical professionals or online philanthropy as a result of this pandemic.

I have no idea

No at the end of the month we will see record homelessness and then record starvation and bankruptcy. We are in the down ward spiral of bottom out economics. Large businesses don't stay alive without customers and then there number goes unemployed and the company they support goes unemployed and repeat indefinitely. Harvard put out a report that said if we want this containment to be successful we would have to do this for 18 months. We are screwed if we don't and more so if we do.

trillion dollars a day pumped into the stock market. if that money had been pumped into human beings, companies would have more customers and be able to sustain employment. except for social companies like bars and restaurants. but given the pandemic, the president should be ordering factories that used to make useless crap for us to mindlessly consume to shift to making medical supplies. we need so many factories doing this that it should be like ww2.

Food manufacturing factories not only didn't shut down, but RAMPED UP production to meet increased demand. Yet they're still struggling to fill their open positions. The factory I work at has 12 permanent openings alone and there are many other openings at plants in the surrounding area. Yet no applicants. It's like no matter how bad this gets most people think they're above some good ol' blue collar work and don't even consider applying.

You mean when people don't go to work during a mandatory work shut down, they're unemployed?
