Twitter deletes 20,000 fake accounts linked to Saudi, Serbian and Egyptian govts

Twitter said Thursday it has removed 20,000 fake accounts in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Honduras, Indonesia, and Serbia that allegedly took direction from governments or pushed pro-government content. Yoel Roth, the head of site integrity, said the removal of the accounts was part of the company’s ongoing ’work to detect and investigate state-backed information operations’.
