In a step up to fight the COVID-19 outbreak, Peru and Panama both started on Thursday limiting the times men and women can leave their homes. In Peru, men will be able to leave their homes to stock up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while women can go out on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Nobody is allowed to leave home on Sunday. Panama has implemented similar designated hours to step out.
I'm just guessing this has more to do with numbers than gender. If you let both out at the same time, more people out and so more virus spread.
