Dismissed US carrier captain gets hero’s ovation from crew

The dismissed captain of a US aircraft carrier, relieved after seeking stronger measures in response to a COVID-19 outbreak aboard his ship, was given a hero’s ovation by his crew when he left the vessel. Captain Brett Crozier was relieved Thursday after a scathing letter was leaked in which he called on the Navy for stronger action to halt the spread of the COVID-19 virus aboard the vessel.

I'd rather have the people underneath me cheering than the people above me patting me on the head.

I sorry but he violated one of the navys biggest rules: lose lips sink ships. He instead of directing the letter to his direct superior distributed the letter out and in turn informed the whole world that one of the US carriers was out of working order along other import information. I'm not saying he was wrong, but anyone who gets to that rank will know that when he wrote that letter he was getting himself in trouble.
