The US box office made just $5K in the last week of March

Due to the coronavirus outbreak and resultant shutdown of cities across the country, the US box office made just $5K from March 20 to 26, according to Box Office Mojo. The same time last year, that number was over $200 million. In the first quarter of 2020, the US box office suffered a 25% decline in revenue compared to last year, according to The Hollywood Reporter -- a drop of $600 million.

I'm surprised they made any money. This virus will close most theaters first because people are scared if catching the virus, but once this is all said and done I think there's going to be a lot less demand for theaters. We're already seeing streaming of movies that were in theater. We're likely to see many cinemas close except for those with a gimmick that might keep them open.
