Twins born during India lockdown named ’Corona’ and ’Covid’

A couple in India has named their newborn twins Corona and Covid after they were born during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown. ’The delivery happened after facing several difficulties and therefore, my husband and I wanted to make the day memorable’, said the 27-old mother. The parents hope the names will remind their kids as they grow up about the hardships faced during the lockdown.

But why? Names are given by something good. Funny now, but I doubt Covid and Corona will be happy with their names.

I love the optimism of these parents. What makes us human is our ability to see beyond the negativity in our day to day existence. Corona as a girl's name sounds very beautiful when pronounced in Spanish and Covid seems to be similar to other popular Indian names for boys like Ayaan, Dev, Faqid. Good for them blessings to there family.
