Kentucky governor vetoes voter ID bill

Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky on Friday vetoed a bill pushed by Republican lawmakers to require residents to show a government-issued photo ID in order to vote. In a supporting message, Beshear said the measure would result in ’undermining our democracy’. He added that the bill seeks to ’resolve a problem that does not exist’ pointing to the absence of voter impersonation cases in Kentucky.

Here are the acceptable forms of ID in Canada https://elections.ca/content.aspx?section=vot&dir=ids&document=index&lang=e#list Here is broader context https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/analysis-opinion/three-things-us-could-learn-canadas-election
