This reporting is all spin and no news. I’d like to find out what happened but every link I’ve clicked so far doesn’t say. Update for those who care:ironically the CNN story is the only one that actually does a good job covering what actually happened, giving the man’s words context rather than taking them out of context to spin an orange man bad narrative. The fact that CNN is the only publication to do this just shows how sorry the state of our media is.

Lots of things to take into consideration here, but sentences like this seem fundamentally wrong in terms of military discipline: "The crew of the Roosevelt had already registered its discontent with the Trump administration’s decision to remove the commander,"

Clearly the guy is not stupid; he wouldn't likely have been in that position if he was. But he did make a blunder in his action.

Hmm, captain puts crew to shore leave in a city with covid19, crew gets sick and is beyond the capacity of the facilities of nearest naval facility to handle. Then he leaks status of his ship, which is likely combat ineffective, to the press. If the guy isn't stupid, he should be in Fort Leavenworth. His actions were either sheer stupidity and negligence bordering on criminal in a commissioned officer, or purposeful, highly dishonorable and criminal. For his sake he better hope it was just stupidity.

And equal stupidity to think flying over there n ur speech slamming a man who saved his crews life also would not be out in media...given u have the job due to a resignation for objections to interfering with naval discipline for a war crime.... U are a pencil neck politician unqualified to run the navy... Go real navy...
