WhatsApp imposes new limit on forwarding to fight fake news

WhatsApp plans to impose a strict new limit on message forwarding in an attempt to slow the dissemination of fake news. As per the rules, if a user receives a frequently forwarded message (one which has been forwarded more than five times), they will only be able to send it on to a single chat at a time. ’We believe it’s important to slow the spread of these messages’, the company said.
