United Airlines hit with class action lawsuit for refusing to provide refunds

United Airlines has been hit with a class action lawsuit from passengers who requested to receive refunds for their canceled flights. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline has cut its flights, which caused flight cancellations for thousands of passengers. However, United refuses to provide them with refunds. As a result, the passengers claim they have lost a combined total of $5 million.

I scheduled a flight with them several months ago, at which time I signed a contract stating that I recognized my flight was non-refundable. When I canceled they still gave me a voucher equal to the value of my tickets for 12 months. If that's not fair I don't know what is. I assume others have had a different experience, but rightfully you can't ask for anything more than you originally bargained for.

Ah yes, receiving money from a service not rendered. Wouldn't that be a nice little racket?
