NYC auctioned off extra ventilators due to cost of maintenance: report

NYC auctioned off hundreds of ventilators at least 5 years ago under Bill de Blasio’s administration because maintenance costs were too high, according to a report by ProPublica. The report says that the city under Mayor Bloomberg put together a pandemic plan in 2006 that included stockpiling ventilators and N95 masks. A few hundred ventilators were acquired, which were eventually auctioned off.

This is why it becomes impossible to take any news media seriously. 500 ventilators bought over 10 years ago and sold maybe 5 years ago. Mostly because the manufacturer of those no longer is in business.
