ICE says it will consider freeing vulnerable immigrants as COVID-19 cases rise

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Tuesday it has directed officials across the country to consider releasing detainees who are at increased risk of getting severely ill or dying from COVID-19 illness. ICE said that it had identified 600 detainees it considered vulnerable and released 160 people from custody. Those released will be subject to some form of monitoring.

I hear they are releasing many from jails and prisons as well. I don’t know if I like the thought of being locked down while they run free. Seems not a good answer to me.

Free them on the Mexican side. They have fewer cases than we do. They'll be safer there.
