Trump calls vote-by-mail ’corrupt’; defends his mail-in ballot

President Trump dug in on his opposition to mail-in voting, dismissing the concept as ’corrupt’. This comes despite having voted by mail himself in last month’s Florida primary. Trump defended himself saying there was a difference between voting by mail while living out of state and voting by mail while living in the state.

I'm not sure what the difference could posibly be. It would take a lot longer to verify an election result but that isn't corrupt. It does feel like a giant step backwards in tech but as a fallback in this situation it isn't a bad idea.

Anything that's not in his "best interest" is either a hoax, corrupt, or fake news?!!

Correct summary. I watched this, his criticism is with abuse by individuals in state who yank these ballots from mailboxes and fill them out fraudulently. There is no other option for out of State voters and "cheaters" as he called them don't care if they find a form for another state.

I love how Trump is constantly purposefully misunderstood. He obviously didn't mean all mail-ins are corrupt, he simply meant that male in voting is the easiest one to corrupt. If you just used common sense as you were listening to him, this wouldn't be an issue.

I think currently it’s too easy for voter fraud with voting by mail but we could make changes that would make it secure. My ideas would be: Have a system to remove deceased people from the voter registration within a month of being deceased. Have signatures on the mail in ballot verified with the signature on their license. I’m sure this wouldn’t stop all voter fraud. Anyone else have any ideas?

Why is it we don’t have internet voting like Estonia? We have the world’s biggest tech companies and one of the highest internet saturation levels in the world. https://e-estonia.com/solutions/e-governance/i-voting/

vote by mail is the only way workers who can't get the time off can vote. republican suppression of voting. but without Bernie, what's the point of voting. we have a choice between two Republicans now. guess we'll see the lowest voter turnout ever, even with millions unemployed due to Trump's failure with dealing with the virus

Wait. You mean der Führer Trump contradicted himself, believing it's ok for him to do things other people can't? Wow. I didn't see that one coming.

Which ever plan requires voter ID I'm down for. If you gotta have ID to buy a gun or buy beer, you better have ID to elect the leader of the free world.

The more I bother, the more George Carlin-esque I feel, waiting for a meteor to kill us all. There is no reason we can not institute vote by mail for every American 18 and older, you can state as many problems and worries as you wish, but I can also state worries and voting errors from voting machines(Iowa primary caucus great example). No reason, folks just don't want to overcome the problem because it doesn't suit their agendas for higher voter turnout, if someone deemed out of state vote by mail legitimate by some means in their mind, then there is nothing preventing the mass vote by mail except for you sheep who quote worries fed to you, saying it's impossible and dangerous to the democracy. You just don't realize that you've been kicked into submission not to look critically at the problem and overcome it.

The evil demonrats will try every trick to cheat. But if you want to set up mail ballots you must put your finger and thumb print on ballot and if you are an illegal or not allowed to vote because you are a felon it should be a Federal Capital Punishment and should get lethal injection immediately. If un registered voter 20 years in prison. This will also stop all the dead ppl voting demonrats because thg hey won't be able to get finger prints, also if you vote more than once 10 years for each vote more than 1. Without these guide lines it 1000% can't be trusted

There is reason for the Democrats are pushing this, and it's not to help the people. I would remind Burnie supporter's how they just screwed you in the primary.

Vote by mail has very high risks. It should be limited and should have a few layers of verification at least

We haven’t seen anything on how this process will work. How will US citizenship be verified? How will we be sure that the ballot box isn’t stuffed with phony ballots? Look at what’s happened with misuse at the FBI and the rest of the frame ups of Trump (and I’m NO Trump fan, but I’m a huge fan of rule of law).
