Oil prices climb as key OPEC+ production conference set to get under way

Oil prices rose on Thursday on expectations the world’s largest oil producers would agree to cut production at a meeting later in the day that is intended to end a price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia. Brent crude futures rose by almost 2.6%, or 87 cents, to $33.71 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate crude futures were up 5%, or $1.27 cents, at $26.36 a barrel.
