Ventilators are overused for COVID-19 patients, some doctors say

Some critical care physicians in the US are questioning the widespread use of ventilators for COVID-19 patients. They argue that a numbers of patients could be treated with less intensive respiratory support. This has been triggered by an observation that many patients have very low blood oxygen levels. Yet, neither does it show in a racing pulse nor do their brains show no signs of blinking off.

Not suprised. Don't you know it is dooms day and that 10% (reallity 2%) of all cases will require hospital care and that 50% (reality 12%) of the world will be infected this year and the 4% (reality 1%) of the infected will die and that every hospitalization will require a respirator (not less then a third) to hold off this world ending disease that we destroyed our economy and impoverished millions to defeat. It is the end thats why we were told to prepare for the deaths of millions (then 500 thousand then 200 thousand and now 65 thousand) Americans this year. (Yes all of this is for dramatic effect, to display the absurdity of our reaction to this pandemic)

There are some doctors saying that the symptoms in some patients resemble almost like high altitude sickness and pulmonary edema. https://youtu.be/Eq6YEYfn2zw

When you are given a hammer everything looks like a nail. Maybe respirators are not the right tool.

Not so much over used as used to swiftly or not swift enuff depending on stages... It's a very tricky dance... Some Dr's dance better than others n some nurses know when to que Dr to dance n secure that patient the ventilator.. Better to have them ready.. And then hope u didn't have to use it

The medical industry is too quick too trust government and pharmaceutical industry and too quick at ignoring common sense and the evidence in front of them.
