Calls to close global ’wet markets’

There have been calls to close the wet markets in China due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Rumors say that the virus originated in bats but was spread after it infected another animal which eventually passed it on to the people in a wet market. The unsanitary conditions in wet markets and the spread of the coronavirus disease have resulted in a call to close all global wet markets.
