US consumer price index falls in March, led by energy

The consumer price index dropped by 0.4% previous month, which is the largest drop in five years as per the data from the Labor Department. This drop was inline with the economists forecast survey done by MarketWatch. Core inflation, excluding food & energy prices fell 0.1% in March, the first time in ten years. While the rate of inflation over the past 12 months fell to 1.5% from 2.3%.
