US agencies seek ban on China Telecom operating in the country

The US DOJ and other federal agencies have called on the FCC to revoke China Telecom’s authorization to provide international telecommunications services to and from the US. China Telecom is the US subsidiary of a People’s Republic of China state-owned company. The agencies cited ’substantial and unacceptable national security and law enforcement risks associated with China Telecom’s operations’.

EXCELLENT. Now, next is Chinese banks that facilitate their modern slavery and racial cleansing and money laundering for CCP. They have branches all over North America. Cut off the monetary supply lines.

Wouldn't be the worst idea. I'm usually a free market guy but China has proven itself to be to be an untrustworthy merchant.

China will typically play the victim and blame cards AGAIN, while they screw the US.

China is an expanding empire, a communist one and they should be treated as such. It lies, violates hhrr, infringes intelectual properly, etc. Because of that they shouldn't even be invited to play along free markets.

The US should let Taiwan have Telecom access to the US.

I have long thought we depended too much on China. Recent events have made it more blatant why we should. I hope we follow through. Of course, we have a massive debt owed them. Something like one trillion dollars. That'll make it difficult to completely remove connections to them but we have to start somewhere.

Less competition and higher prices for us

If the CCP doesn't close wet markets, everyone in the world should ban them from trade and travel. Also banning China telecom isn't going to stop internet access, unless all countries ban connectivity to them.

Let's ignore all of our Chinese owned debt amd start paying back our debf everywhere else. That would redice the deficit and help the world economy more than any trade deal.

Goddamn, China is having the shit kicked out of them lately. Their morale as a country must be as low as low gets.

Not by any measure a fan of the CCP, but if China Mobile and China Telecom are being inspected by regulators and being transparent to these regulators. Then why limit the free market? Because the US is afraid of China using these companies for espionage? Is the US afraid of a war with China or does this come into the US wanting to stifle Chinese economic growth so they can remain the world Super Power?
