Trump says country ’near the peak’ of COVID-19 outbreak

President Trump said Friday that he believes the US death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic will be ’substantially less’ than the 100,000 projected last week. Trump added that the decision on when to ease social distancing guidelines to open the economy is the ’biggest decision’ he’s ever had to make.

Yes, yes, yes, orange man bad. I get it. I read an interesting npr projection, based on the same thing the administration is using, and it said pretty much the same thing... And no one is going to accuse npr of being to the right. The peak will not happen at the same time in every state. But the country as a whole _is_ nearing its peak. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/04/07/825479416/new-yorks-coronavirus-deaths-may-level-off-soon-when-might-your-state-s-peak Go to the end to see each state.
