Taliban confirms release of 20 government prisoners

The Taliban plans to release 20 Afghan government prisoners Sunday as part of the first handover since the beginning of a peace process. ’Today, 20 prisoners of the Kabul administration will be released by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’, a Taliban spokesman tweeted. Since Wednesday, the Afghan government has released 300 Taliban prisoners as part of a swap.

Negotiating with terrorist is something that should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm not sure how beneficial could that be for a the image of institutions because in this negotiations you end up granting some recognition and put yourself at the same level as the terrorist.
