Spain lifts lockdown for non-essential workers sparking debates

Spain has decided to lift lockdown in food distribution, communications, sanitation & other non-essential sectors. This is despite the country’s status as the world’s second-largest Covid-19 hotspot with over 17,000 deaths. The govt of Catalonia has described this decision as ’recklessness;’ while the Madrid authorities have warned another wave of coronavirus cases would be ’unforgivable.’

A tanked economy will kill more people than COVID.

I find it rather troubling they would label “food distribution” as “non-essential”...

This'll be interesting. It'll either turnout really well or really poorly. Not at the sake of lives, but I'm interested to see what we find out.

Disease is part of the natural order of the world, we can't shut down our lives and livelihoods because of it. As long as government labs aren't releasing the viruses they've concocted, which I'm not convinced isn't what's happening here, then natural order will be balanced. Though why make super viruses if you never intend to use them? Let's just let a mild one go to create a panic and take advantage of the circumstances.

if food, communication, and sanitation is "non-essential", who the fuck has been working? those industries have been considered essential in America the entire time.

The only thing this is going to spark, is a sharp rise in cases of mortality in about 2 weeks..

Supose this will make for a good study on the virus effect on a country's economy without a lockdown. Mid lockdown in the UK hospitals are struggling anyway with nurses and doctors going off sick, not to mention the number of firemen in isolation so I supose it will be helpful to see the alternative. Personally I don't think it will end well for businesses or hospitals in Spain but time will tell I guess.
