99-year-old World War II veteran raises $2.8 million for UK health-care workers

A 99-year-old World War II veteran has raised more than $2.8M for workers in the UK’s NHS during the pandemic by attempting to walk the length of his garden one hundred times before his 100th birthday later this month. Captain Tom Moore, who has used a walker since breaking his hip, is doing 10 laps a day in order to complete the challenge, and has smashed his fundraising target of £1,000.
