NYC revises count of COVID-19 deaths to over 10,000 as presumed cases added

New York, currently the hardest hit US city in the COVID-19 pandemic, revised its official death toll sharply upward to 10,367 after adding victims presumed to have perished from the lung disease who never been tested. The new cumulative number of ’confirmed and probable COVID-19 deaths’ released by the NYC Health Dept., marks an increase of over 3,700 since March 11.

If now we're counting "probably" cases, that makes the numbers even more meaningless.

So they took an issue (the miss reporting) that was probably happening to a pretty small degree and decided to hyperinflate the problem. The real question is why. What does lying about this get you during a shutdown where you have effectively initiated martial law and made huge power grabs and the people can't go out on the street to stop you. I just can't understand why anyone would inflatinflate the death toll of a virus that has a steadily shrinking prediction of deaths.
