Amazon to close French warehouses until next week after court order

Amazon said Wednesday that it would temporarily halt its operations in France after a court ruled the company had failed to adequately protect warehouse workers against the threat of the coronavirus. The retailer said it planned to close the country’s six warehouses, which employ 10,000 permanent and interim workers, from April 16 until April 20 at least.
