At least 9,000 health care workers sickened with COVID-19, CDC data shows

More than 9,000 health care workers across the U.S. contracted COVID-19 as of last week and at least 27 died, according to a report released Tuesday by the CDC. Nearly three-quarters are women and more than a third had some underlying health condition. The median age is 42. A third of the health care workers who died were over 65 years old.
