New Zealand considers plan to ease COVID-19 lockdown; Ministers take pay cut

NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said that significant restrictions would be kept in place even if the country eases the nationwide one-month lockdown. The country introduced its highest, level 4, lockdown measures in March. A decision on whether to lift the lockdown would be made on April 20. Ardern also announced that she, along with other ministers, will take a 20% pay cut.

I think our government leaders need to take a serious pay cut. Why are Junior level Congress members making 7 times as much as a soldier that puts their lives on the line for our freedom?

If everyone in federal and state governments for the US that makes over 100k/year were to take a 10-20% pay cut, they could bail out a hell of a lot more people.
