The high court of Australia acquitted Cardinal George Pell in an unanimous decision. The high court said that there ought to have been reasonable doubt by the jury whom first convicted Pell and the subsequent appeal failed to entertain the question.
The law has failed. Diddling the kids or ignoring the of diddling kids is ok if you are Catholic.
I read all three articles that are currently up at time of this posting. The entire case seemed to have rested on the witness testimony of the accusser. Then faults where found in that testimony.
This seems like it was never a strong cases to begin with, and the moment that discrepancies were found in the witness testimony the case against this priest couldn't hold water. Let at least. I wouldn't be surprised if someone replies that we should believe the victim and tells us what the public court of opinion should be.
