17 bodies found in New Jersey nursing home after anonymous tip

Police discovered 17 corpses stuffed inside a small morgue at a New Jersey nursing home Monday. The cops were tipped about the improper storage of corpses at the Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center by an anonymous phone call. The 17 were among 68 recent deaths linked to the long-term care facility. Of those who died, 26 people had tested positive for the virus.

I feel there some information missing. Why didn't the staff contact authorities? None of the stories include an actual size. 17 bodies a a morgue designed for 10 is a lot different then 17 designed for 3. At the time I posted there was only 1 story.

For the past few years, I have been saying that BASIC Cremation services, need to be a public service! Every year I read of this happening time and time again- nationwide. What else can be expected? People who live check to check, in a good scenario can't even begin to afford the costs of disposing a loved ones body. (I imagine relatives often see no real cause to try if the love isn't there.) The burden is then put on the cornoner, the county, and anybody else. Take into account the public health and serious effects that derive from storing or disposing of a corpse/ corpses illegally. Consider that this is an event that EVERY human experiences, I cannot imagine why tax funds would not be available to pay for the BARE minimum (ashes returned to next of kin being perhaps, the only unnecessary "extra" exspense offered.

This comes as no surprise to many people paying through the nose for a loved one in a care home. In many cases they're at best seen as an inconvenient route to your money.
