UK health expert says country likely to have EU’s highest COVID-19 death rate

Costello, director of Institute for Global Health at University College London, said the UK. ’could see 40,000 deaths’ by the time the first wave of outbreak is over. He said, this is mainly because of not enough testing being done, contact tracing has been a failure and lack of isolation of people in contact with infected. However the govt has defended its record in responding to the pandemic.

Not really surprising tbh. I mean the government pushed the cruel herd immunity policy on us killing millions of their own voters in the process. Then when things got worse they backtracked and enforced lockdown with strict guidelines on us but people (including Boris Johnson) did not listen to the guidelines and of course Boris still won’t fund the NHS properly when he returns to work full time, hence the crisis continues. And now their telling us we could have the highest covid-19 death toll in Europe? I wonder why.

A lot of it results from the demographic profile of those infected.
