COVID-19 updates: 2.26M cases globally with death toll at 154K

More than 2.2 million people have been infected worldwide with COVID-19 and at least 154,726 people have died since the outbreak began. 578,964 people have recovered. The US now has over 710K cases with 37,175 deaths. Spain has recorded 190,839 cases while Italy now has 172,434 cases. Russia recorded 4,785 new cases. Taiwan plans to quarantine 700 sailors who were on a goodwill mission.

These numbers are massively incorrect. Antibody studies will show the number of infected to be no less than 10x the numbers reported here. The vast majority of cases are so mild they are never reported. When the dust settles I would expect the death rate to be quite a bit below 1%. We really dropped the ball on this one and overreacted far too much to our collective detriment.
