UK unveils £1.25 billion rescue package for tech start-ups

The UK government has announced a £1.25 billion ($1.6 billion) support package to help tech start-ups amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The rescue plan, unveiled by British Finance Minister Rishi Sunak, is made up of two initiatives. The first is a £500 million ’Future Fund’ loan scheme for high-growth start-ups. The remaining £750 million is for small and medium-sized firms focusing on R&D.
