100,000 gather for funeral in Bangladesh, defying lockdown

Over 100,000 people defied Bangladesh’s lockdown order on Sat to attend the funeral of Maulana Ansari, an Islamic teacher and senior leader of Islamist party in district of Brahmanbaria. The police were unable to control the crowd, owing to which the officer in charge and assistant superintendent were suspended and a committee has been formed to investigate the mass gathering despite the lockdown.

I hope there is minimal illness due to this gathering. I understand wanting to gather to celebrate and influential member of your community, but there is significant risk due to COVID-19.
