Calls to poison control centers have spiked by about 20 percent during the pandemic in the US according to data published by the CDC, and a huge number of those calls have to do with cleaning products and hand sanitizer. The data reflects the number of calls in the months of January, February, and March in comparison to the same span last year—with a considerable spike at the beginning of March.
