New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he was considering allowing drive-ins to reopen, as regular theaters stay shut amid the coronavirus lockdown. Drive-in theaters, whose popularity has steadily ebbed since it peaked in the early Sixties, would allow people the ability to watch movies projected on a large screen from the safety of their cars.
Bring back drive ins and drive ups like Olden days
I can't see this happening in any city, you'll need a lot of real estate to get the correct angle for car windows these days to see the screen. Where will you find a massive farm land close to any major city.
Tried this. Drove my car into the theatre. They wouldn't give me popcorn, they screamed at me. I honestly just wanted to see Trolls 2: World Tour.
Always wanted to watch a film like this
This is actually a very good idea. A drive in movie theater should also be relatively cheap to build since you just need a screen, projector, and a large open space.
Awesome. Get enough drivin's going and we might have another baby boom.
They wouldn't have gone away if all the loser progressives had driver's licenses.
I love it grew up going to one for dates and with family. Was a fun way to enjoy ourselves and be able to see the screen without some idiot spoiling the film. Add to that a resurgence in Drive In Restaurants such as Sonic only add to that higher end ones also with cutting edge dishes. A resurgence if true enjoyment in my opinion.
Let's go out to the snack bar, let's go out to the snack bar, let's go out to the snack bar, and get ourselves a treat!!!
This would be awesome
I could see this. The A&W with the drive up is pretty popular right now in my town. They hadn't used the stalls in years and now they are talking about hiring skater girls.
