UK statistics office says COVID-19 death toll is 41% higher than early data

The UK Office for National Statistics said that it has recorded 13,121 deaths by Apr 10, compared with 9,288 reported by government because they learned many deaths in care homes had been omitted. Thus the true death toll in England & Wales from COVID-19 stood 41% higher than previously reported. The latest hospital deaths data published Monday show 16,509 people have died across the UK.
