New Zealand inches closer to goal of wiping out coronavirus

NZ PM Jacinda Ardern has said the country is on course of doing something ’no other country has achieved’, the complete elimination of COVID-19. A strict lockdown has seen cases dwindle from a peak of about 90 per day in early April to just five on Tuesday. The country of nearly 5 million has reported 1,451 cases. Ardern on Monday announced the lockdown measures would be extended for another week.
