Trump family seeks rent break for DC hotel from federal govt if others get one

The Trump family business is asking the federal government to give DC hotel a break on its monthly lease payments if it does so for other tenants during the COVID-19 crisis. The hotel is located within the Old Post Office building, a federally-owned property. The hotel’s monthly rent is $267,653. According to WSJ, the pandemic cost the Trump properties a million dollars revenue loss daily.

Of course this business should get the same treatment as any other in that industry. It has employees and buys supplies from other companies just like every other hotel regardless of whose name is on the articles of incorporation.

You would think the patriotic president would have been first in line to offer up any number of his properties to be converted into hospitals, or shelter in place housing for those without out shelter, or most at risk. Not a single offer of help from the Trump organization, his supporters should be embarrassed to support such an ungrateful for the opportunities and success this country has offered him, and especially because he is an elected official charged with protecting the countries citizenry. Guess the draft dodging, pledge of allegiance forgetting, inviter of foreign state interference in domestic elections, and a demonstrated member of the never read the constitution crowd is not the patriot he pretends to be. Historians will come to identify Trump as the worst one term mistake this country has ever made.
