CDC chief warns second COVID-19 wave this winter may be worse

Dr Robert Redfield, director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told The Washington Post that a resurgence of Covid-19 next winter could strike much harder than the first because it would likely arrive at the start of influenza season, and the combination would put even greater strain on the nation’s healthcare system than the first outbreak.

We will know soon enough as Australia is about to enter its winter flu season. Whilst we have flattened the curve, it may rebound as the season starts, though I hope not.

Data light and fear heavy. I see very little planning and very little organisation. Because we isolated everyone in the US, we will go into the winter without herd immunity as is soon to be achieved in Sweden, or maybe we will? Some evidence suggests that the virus is much more widespread. Randomized massive antibody testing should be the priority, as well as advice on how to best establish and fortify healthy immune systems in the population. Vitamin C and Vitamin D supplementation is cheap and effective, for example. The US government and world health organizations are examples of corporate seizure, cronyism, inefficiency and poor management.

If there is nothing we can do now about it now and it's relatively far away, why fear mongering? Likely preparing public to take *certain measures* to stop another economic halt.

Its almost like historically, the second wave of pandemics was considerably worse than the first. I'm sorry a lot of you feel self important with your work, but most feel like this virus means nothing until someone close to them gets it.
