A nurse in Arizona stood face-to-face with demonstrators in Phoenix recently, amid a massive protest calling for an end to lockdown measures. Lauren Leander, a nurse at Banner University Medical Center was photographed with a small group who stood silently while wearing their medical scrubs and N95 masks.
Nah, just a stooge. The protesters are heroes.
So stunning. So brave. No interaction with the other people, just silent judgement and standing. Wearing a mask so nobody can see how bored she is. Much impressed. So wow.
Something is wrong here. The protests are against being locked down but thay are being portrayed as protests against healthcare workers. No one is protesting healthcare workers, it's the lockdown that's being protested. Healthcare workers should not be involved in this.
Staged protests by trump and his stooges
"As a nurse, Leander said she is not the one studying the disease or tracking the patterns." It is a medical professionals job to keep up with the most recent research and clinical practices, if you don't then you are not practicing up to standards. If she did she would know that unless you are above the age of 50, have a comobitity, or a BMI above 30, you are more likely to die in a car accident. The population that doesn't fall within these parameters should be allowed to re-enter the work force and normal life while those who do have one or more of these demographic attributes should either take PPE precautions or stay quarantined depending on their level of risk.
Will she protest the governor/mayor when lockdowns start to be lifted next week?
Those of you critisising the nurse should be embarrassed of yourselves. What do her Tik Tok vids have to do with anything? Those at the deep end of this and that have first hand experience of the pandemic are in the best position to have an opinion and right to protest. The world over are praising and thankful for the health care given by nurses and doctors. Not you lot. I read her interview and it was articulate and compassionate. Those critising need to have a look at themselves because your sounding like bitter jealous baffoons who never protested anything in your life.
Do you mean the same "nurse" that walked up for the photo OP then not even a minute later walked away? That same nurse?
At least there's still some common sense left in the world. It is totally understandable why nurses would care enough about this to take a stand. For every person that gets sick, that they have to care for, we endanger their lives. Is it really worth it? Money over people's lives?
Do we have confirmation of this person's identity to verify she really is a nurse? Also, she has the mask on, but lacks any eye protection or gloves while standing directly in someone's face. Clearly not very good at practicing what she preaches, but I'm a bit biased cause I have the absurd notion that nurses shouldn't be the sole voice in determining the civic construct of our entire society.
Is it stages to get more news?
“Guys, stay home. It’s not time yet. It’s not time yet. Please do this for me.’” (Picture Dr.Evil) “How’bout NOOOOoooooo”
People in Phoenix are starting to ignore the lockdown. They can't arrest us all!
I’m going to ask a stupid question are they actually nurses or just people in cosplay
Are they real nurses this time? The last one was fake. A paid protesters.
The left would sacrifice every one of you and your families well being just to grandstand about this epidemic.
Everyone in this scenario is to prideful and ignorant to what this is to do the right thing. the nurse if she is one should be working. The protester should understand this is for the higher good and that there is a time and place but this is not the place. And finally we should not be giving Anyone this attention because it makes people think these stupid actions are justified.
@Nathan Constitutional right = stupid action, huh? Freakin astounding.
Nurses seem super relaxed and not overworked for SOME ODD REASON.
Nurse who had so much time on her hands, takes a break from making tik tok videos to stand outside and break social distancing protocols.
