14% out of 3,000 tested in New York have coronavirus antibodies, says Cuomo

Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York said that a screening of 3,000 people has found that almost 14 percent of them tested positive for coronavirus antibodies. Mr. Cuomo said that this suggests that nearly 2.7 million people from across the state might have been infected with the disease.

It's almost as though young, fit and healthy people are able to fight off covid-19. Instead of killing the economy it would have made much more sense to force boomers to stay indoors.

Here's what I'm seeing. First, they're letting people move out of the city into the suburbs. Supposing these numbers are accurate, NYC is now infecting even more of NY and NJ. Second, is NYC supposed to stay closed forever? That's a surefire way to kill any chance of economic recovery. Third, WHO is saying it's just the tip of the iceberg. Is the entire world supposed to shut down? It's just not feasible. For all those people who are whining that it's too soon I hope they understand that there will be mass starvation, looting, murder and more as society comes to a complete halt. I don't think they understand how vital a functioning economy is. It's not just about making money, it's about civilization as we know it being threatened. Humanity could deal with millions of deaths if need be (not desirable - but Stalin killed up to 60 million and Mao as much as 45 million). Coming back from a collapse of civilization will put those numbers to shame.

I'd love to see the data on these people to know how the distribution of age groups applies.

This is awesome news. I believe it was Fauci who said we should give those with antibodies some kind of certification to allow them to go out without penalty. If we can provide more testing to more people, that may be a viable strategy.

fatality being low is good, but transmission is higher than expected then. we need those tests. our hospitals are still overrun. we aren't out of the woods, but we can see daylight through the leaves. thanks Cuomo for running your state responsibly and for conducting these tests. don't be surprised if, like guliani, he tries to parlay doing well during a single disaster into a presidential run.

RIP New Yorkers. Nobody even noticed you were gone. After all, like Cuomo said many times, the alternative to shutting down the entire world was death. I wonder where they hid all the bodies this time?

This is why I'm in favor of more testing. The more people we know of who have the antibodies, the stronger the argument to relax the restrictions.

that's not a valid sample size for the claims being made.

Wow, and all of them are now dead, according to Cuomo. Because the alternative to shutting down the entire world to prevent the coofs is death. He said this multiple times. RIP millions of Jew Yorkers. You won't be missed. Hell, nobody even noticed you were gone.
