Supreme Court decision makes deporting immigrants for crimes easier

The Supreme Court on Thursday made it easier for authorities to deport certain immigrants who have committed crimes. The court upheld a lower court decision that found a legal permanent resident from Jamaica named Andre Martello Barton is ineligible to have his deportation canceled under a U.S. law. Barton was targeted for deportation after criminal convictions in Georgia for drug and gun crimes.

Think about your kids and your job before you become a criminal, don't use them as an excuse afterwards.

Not a win for Trump. A win for America

How could anyone sane be in support of keeping criminal immigrants in the country? It's surprising it had to go up to supreme court to make such a common sense decision.

About time. You commit crimes somewhere else. We've got enough criminals of our own. If you want to be part of this country act like you're grateful for it.

Why did the headline have to read “in a win for Trump”? That seems like a biased headline. How about “in a win for the United States”? Or “justice”?

You mean a win for America and sanity? Yes I agree.

So much misinformation going on in the comments, it's like no one clicks the links to the actual articles. This has nothing to do with illegal immigrants. The decision affects legal immigrants who have a green card but are not citizens yet. The rational of the SCOTUS is that if the crime is serious enough to deny someone's recidency application, then it's also serious enough to revoke it (once they have it) and deport them. Imo this is a totally reasonable decision that we should agree with. But because politics in this country is a team sport. Right: KeEp AmEriCa GrEaT something something Mexicans (they didn't read the article). Left: This is purely racially motivated!!! Think about the children of this poor man who... actually was a clear danger to society... and was comitting serious crimes involving firearms...

I'm so happy a judge decided to let the people of this country have a bone. Who ever thought that judges could make national policy? I know the authors of our constitution didn't!

Until you become a citizen, you can be deported. We should be deporting criminals who aren't citizens.

This is the kind of headline that would have you to believe that someone somewhere in America is really upset that we are deporting illegals who are criminals. Shit, take some of the legals with you too.

No! Criminally-inclined migrants are exactly who we should keep in our country!

What about the "home-grown terrorists?" You all "are not" gonna do that, are you, bc "all" of them are "white men and women!! They commit more murders (under the guise of being sheriffs and police), more white-collar crimes (as politicians, lobbyists, corporation owners, bank big wigs, etc) robbing the many independent individuals just trying to live from day to day (you know the ordinary mr, mrs, and miss joe blow)?!!

You people, as wypepo usually say to others, cause more loss. You use POC like we're beneath you, that's definitely a LIE! We do "work" you guys wouldn't "touch" with a 10-foot pole! That's how Amerikka got built in the first place, then you guys are good for manipulating your way into a place and saying, "We started this?!!" Last time I read scripture, it said, "man was to 'dominate' the animals, birds, sea creatures, etc." not each other! (paraphrased) Of course "the devil's" children always turned everything around to the exact opposite!
