Holding Tokyo Olympics in 2021 will be ’difficult’, official warns

The head of the Japan Medical Association (JMA) has voiced concern that the Tokyo Olympics, now due to be held in 2021, could again be delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. ’Unless an effective vaccine is developed I think it will be difficult to hold the Olympics next year’, Yoshitake Yokokura said. Several other experts too have cast doubt on plans to hold the Games next July and August.

I love the olympics, and maybe we don't actually need a new city destroying event every 2 years. Let's reuse some of the cities for a while before we move.

The Olympics is a massive revenue raising event. Unless there are tourists spending their money here, there is no point in holding the games at all.
