Google takes a hit in earnings as ad sales tumble

Google reported its weakest revenue growth in nearly five years. The January-March earnings for parent company Alphabet saw first-quarter revenue increase 13% from the same time last year to $41.2 billion. Previously this has regularly been in the range of 20% to 25%. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai acknowledged that the ad sales had been ’significantly impacted’ during March.
