Google parent company Alphabet beats Q1 revenue expectations

Google parent Alphabet reported Q1 revenue of $41.2bn Vs expectations of $40.3bn. Advertising sales (82% of total revenue) rose to $33.8bn, up from $30.6bn last year. EPS stood at $9.87 lower than the $10.33 expected. YouTube, acquired by Alphabet, witnessed growing trend contributing $4bn advertising revenue for the qtr. On back of better than expected revenues, shares of Alphabet rose over 4%.
