COVID-19 lockdown pushes Indonesia zoo animals to brink of starvation

Over 60 cash-strapped animal parks being home to ~70,000 animals across Southeast Asian zoos have been shut since mid-March owing to Covid-19. Most of these Zoos have food stocks which can last till mid may. Thus with no ticket sales, thousands of these animals could face starvation. A German zoo director recently warned of sacrificing some animals to feed others in a worst case scenario.
